I'm having so much fun working on three children's book ideas at once and, although going back and forth between all three makes for slow going, I find it really brings me a fresh perspective on each individual book as I review each one with a fresh eye every time.
I've been doing more sketches for what was my first project "Snow Day!",  about a little boy's delight that it snowed overnight and he realizes that it'll be a snow day at school that day.
I especially like the Cover with the snowman seeming to introduce himself, which I did quite some time ago and originally started my whole idea for this story and the fun for a boy to be had with his dog and a snowman when school gets canceled.

These are some previous sketches and color work that I went back to look at and get some fresh ideas for sketches and color.

Some sledding sketch ideas although I haven't settled on anything definitive yet.

Ma & Pa snowman joining in the fun!

I might use these for icons somewhere in the book.

This is sneak peak at the Cover for a children's story that my niece has written about a world where the rainbow was only one color...Red!  It's a story about acceptance of differences and I've been doodling a few sketches for her as well as finishing the Cover.  It's an teaching storyline for children and I hope it gets published one day. I'd be very interested in your comments.

"In the early days the rainbow had only one color, red. It was
a beautiful thing to see and it smiled a red smile down on all
the world. It was called redraw."
Unfortunately, some creatures started to think that because the
redbow was unique and special and could be seen by the whole
world, it meant that red was a better color than all the rest."

The Cardinal, with its red body, and the poppy with its red petals, and all the other red plants and animals became vain.   They started to sat that they were better than all the other creatures because they were red too, just like redraw.

Here are my four illustrated published books with a few of the color illustrations for you to have a look at.  They're great informative books with fun facts about the State of New York and Connecticut. You can order direct from Amazon.

I recently did some work for my son in California.  He was in need of some paintings of the interior of a child's playroom.  It was fun coming up with these small renditions for him.

I've been concentrating on my Fine Art this past year or more, but now I find myself going back to sketching for some of the other story ideas I had.
These are just some rough sketches for what as going to be illustrations for "Cabin Boy"
which a  friend  of mine wrote. Here is the original finished color cover.

And here are some further sketch ideas for the story. I like to do a quick rough sketch of an idea and then flesh it out to a more finished sketch before I get down to the best part... Painting!!!😀
